Is Mars Men Legit? Yes. That Is Not the Whole Question.
Mars Men surprised us. This is not another fly-by-night testosterone booster stuffed with cheap herbs and clever advertising. It has one of the more impressive labels we reviewed, with disclosed amounts of several ingredients that have real research behind them.
And this is no garage brand: Mars Men raised $27.5 million from L Catterton in March 2026. Credit where it is due—this is a serious product from a serious company.
So why didn’t Mars Men take the top spot? Because we do not judge a supplement by its ingredient panel in isolation. We judge the formula, the daily commitment, the price—and what happens after the credit card goes in.
What Mars Men gets right
- Every dose disclosed—no proprietary blend
- 500 mg Tongkat Ali as a legitimate centerpiece
- Shilajit, cistanche, boron and 4,000 IU vitamin D in one product
- Sold through retail channels as well as direct
Where it lost points
- Five capsules every morning, for at least three months
- $118 one-time—more than three times our #1 pick
- A subscription-first model, with cancellation complaints
- No batch-level Tongkat identity records we could review

Short on time? Here is where we landed.
Mars Men is a good formula. One formula scored higher on every part of the purchase except label breadth: one capsule, $37, nothing to cancel.

What Is in the Five Capsules—and 500 mg of What, Exactly?
Mars Men gives the ingredient enthusiast plenty to work with. Four of the names on your research list have conveniently turned up in one product:
If we ranked products purely by how impressive the Supplement Facts panel looks, Mars Men would score extremely well. But before congratulating yourself on finding everything in one bottle, look at which preparations you are getting.
Five hundred milligrams tells you a weight. It does not tell you botanical identity, standardization, extraction method or chemical composition—and Tongkat Ali is one ingredient where those distinctions matter. A published analysis of commercial Tongkat products found adulterated samples on the market.
The comparison is not simply “500 mg versus 100 mg.” It is: what exactly is the botanical, and how is its identity documented?
That is where the formula ranked above Mars Men pulled ahead. Adaptophen’s batch records identify its Tongkat as Eurycoma longifolia root powder and document identity testing by TLC for a named lot. The consumer-facing information we reviewed for Mars Men did not provide comparable batch-specific evidence. A bigger number is not automatically a better-documented ingredient.
Five Capsules. Every Single Morning.
That sounds like a small distinction until you are on day 60. Every honest brand in this category agrees on one thing: natural testosterone support requires consistency. The easier the routine, the more likely you are still following it when the meaningful evaluation window arrives. One capsule beats five—not on science, but on human nature.
Put the Monthly Cost Side by Side.
Mars Men’s discounted subscription price is still more than twice Adaptophen’s single-bottle price—and the Adaptophen price has no renewal attached.
A buyer who specifically wants the Mars combination may consider the premium worthwhile. But it is a premium, and it deserves an explanation beyond the satisfaction of seeing several fashionable ingredients together.
Mars Men also operates at a very different scale: private-equity backing, a large affiliate ecosystem, sponsored media and heavy customer-acquisition spending. There is nothing wrong with that model. But the customer ultimately pays for more than the ingredients in the bottle.
Before Subscribing, Read What Happened When Customers Wanted Out.
The subscription discount is what makes Mars Men’s price look reasonable. So examine the next shipment just as closely as the first one. There is nothing inherently wrong with a subscription—some customers prefer never having to reorder. The issue is how the experience goes when a customer wants to leave.
In the Mars Men Trustpilot accounts we examined, several customers described trouble around renewal charges and cancellation timing. Here are the particulars, alongside the company’s replies.
About $90 to start; a $150 renewal
Bought a three-month supply for about $90, stopped using it, then received notice of a $150 charge for another three months. He says he tried to cancel when the notice arrived and could not stop the order.
Cancellation emails, followed by more bills
Described trying to end the arrangement for more than six months.
“And they keep billing me every month, even though I've got emails saying I've been canceled.”
A cancellation request four days before renewal
Reported emailing to cancel four days before renewal, then receiving a shipment—and a response—afterward. He also described trouble obtaining a refund.
Disputing the charge, answered with the return policy
Said he was disputing the authorization of charges while support kept referring him to the 90-day return policy, with difficulty getting a phone conversation.
A supplement should give you a reason to order again. A cancellation problem is a poor substitute.
The full rating breakdown—and the accounts that cut the other way
Trustpilot snapshot, October 2, 2026. These percentages describe posted reviews; they cannot tell you the share of all Mars customers who have a problem. The record also includes successful cancellations: GWM described an efficient cancellation in a five-star account, and the company stated it refunded and canceled Danny Epley’s subscription. In a September 13 review, Kyle said another three-bottle charge arrived before he had finished the first bottle.
These are customers’ published accounts and the company’s public replies. We have not independently verified the underlying billing records.
One more detail worth knowing before checkout: Mars Men’s published 90-day refund language applies to the first order, not to every shipment that follows.
To Mars Men’s credit, the company responds publicly to many complaints, and a number of disputes appear to be resolved after escalation. But that is also the point: buying a supplement should not require an escalation path.
Mars Men Goes Broad. The #1 Formula Goes in a Different Direction.
Both products make Tongkat Ali an important part of the formula. After that, they diverge. Mars Men casts a wide net across general male health. Adaptophen puts its emphasis on something the average testosterone formula pays less attention to: the stress-and-fatigue environment testosterone has to operate in.

A 50-year-old man balancing work, family, imperfect sleep and hard training can have a respectable testosterone result and still feel exhausted and under-recovered. We would rather see a formula acknowledge that environment than assume every problem is solved by stacking another testosterone ingredient.
Where Mars Men Beats Adaptophen.
A credible review admits when the runner-up has advantages. Mars Men’s dose disclosure is excellent. It provides shilajit, boron, vitamin D and cistanche—ingredients Adaptophen does not contain. A man who specifically wants those four in one product, does not mind five capsules each morning, is comfortable with the price and will manage the subscription carefully may legitimately prefer Mars Men. That is fair.
A good formula that could not overcome the rest of the equation. We would take Mars Men over most of the 103 products we evaluated, and the ingredient panel deserves the credit we have given it. The supplement and the purchasing experience are two different judgments—and the second is where it lost the top spot.
Adaptophen wins on formulation coherence, one-capsule compliance, documentation, price and the absence of recurring billing. You decide whether the next bottle has earned another order.

The One That Beat It: Adaptophen®.
It earned first place for the combination we were looking for: ingredients selected for different jobs, a case that extends beyond total testosterone, documentation for its Tongkat Ali, and buying terms with nothing to cancel.
- Tongkat Ali, Rhodiola and DHEA—each with its own assignment
- Lot-level identity records you can ask to see
- One capsule daily · 30 capsules per bottle
- One-time purchase · no subscription, no automatic billing
Adaptophen: There’s More to This Than Chasing a Testosterone Number.
One capsule. Documented Tongkat identity. 100 mg DHEA. No subscription. A 60-day empty-bottle guarantee—so the ranking can be tested, not trusted on faith.
If You Read Only One Section, Read This.
Adaptophen finished first because it is the rare testosterone-support formula that survives a hard look from every direction: the label, the ingredient evidence, the manufacturing records, the daily routine, the buying terms and the verified-owner feedback. Mars Men looks bigger on paper. Nugenix is easier to find in a store. Neither matched Adaptophen once those pieces were scored together.

Nugenix Total-T

The man buying a testosterone supplement has a more pressing concern than winning an argument about herbs. He still knows how to train, still has work to do, and still remembers what it felt like to have some appetite for the rest of the day. Lately, everything seems to require a negotiation. He would like his energy and drive back.
This is where Adaptophen becomes interesting. The formula gives space to Tongkat Ali and Rhodiola alongside Tribulus, DHEA, zinc and magnesium. That brings the stress-and-fatigue question into the discussion—where it belongs if you are trying to get more out of your working day, your training and your recovery.

Your Body Has More Than One Testosterone Dial.
Most testosterone products are built around one narrow premise: get the body to make more. Adaptophen starts with a more useful question—what else must be working for testosterone to translate into energy, libido, training capacity and recovery?
Team ANR describes the approach as “brake first, then gas”: pair the adaptogen side of the formula with the hormone-related ingredients. The theory becomes worth considering when you can follow it into specific ingredients and amounts:
Tongkat Ali + Rhodiola
Tongkat Ali has human research on hormone-related outcomes and cortisol. Rhodiola has been studied for stress-related fatigue and attention. That gives Rhodiola a distinct job—beyond adding one more testosterone herb to the list.
DHEA + Tribulus
DHEA is an adrenal steroid the body makes less of with age—not another herb making an indirect claim. Tribulus is best judged by sexual-function outcomes. Two different materials, two different assignments.
Minerals + Cofactors
Zinc, magnesium, vitamin B6 and alpha-lipoic acid support the biochemical environment hormones operate in. Chrysin, deer antler and octacosanol are secondary players—and we say so.
Most formulas are built around one hormone number. Adaptophen is built around what has to work around that number.
One detail deserves a straight answer. Talbott’s Tongkat study used 200 mg of a standardized extract; Adaptophen lists 100 mg of root powder. Olsson’s Rhodiola trial used 576 mg; Adaptophen lists 85 mg. The studies explain why the ingredients interest us; they do not establish the response to this exact capsule. Our first-place judgment reflects the complete formulation and buying proposition—with those distinctions left where you can see them.
“Tested” Is a Starting Point. Ask to See What Was Tested.
A botanical name is easy to print. The powder inside the capsule has to live up to it. For lot 80134, the batch records name the analytical method behind each core botanical—and tie the finished product to an NSF/ANSI 455-2 and SQF-certified facility.
Mars Men discloses an impressive 500 mg of Tongkat Ali, and Nugenix lists 100 mg—but the consumer-facing information we reviewed for those products did not provide comparable batch-specific evidence. A verified 100 mg ingredient can be more informative than a larger number with less documentation behind it.
The certificate is available on request, according to the company. Ask for it. A serious manufacturer should be able to have that conversation. If all you get back is another paragraph about how premium the product is, you have learned something, too.
What verified buyers actually describeHe Wanted More Energy for Work. Then He Wanted to Train.
Celebrity endorsements create recognition, not product evidence. Adaptophen’s more relevant record comes from verified reviewers describing ordinary life. Jason Bartel’s account is worth reading closely because his starting point was ordinary: at 53, he wanted to function better at work.
“Energized”
“Adaptophen has given me energy all day energy wich is what I was looking for. I wasn't looking to start working out just wanted to perform better at work and everyday life activities however now I feel a need or a want to get in the gym or some home workouts. I just turned 53 and im very great full for the uplift in mind body and spirit.”

“Wow - It Really Works”
“Finally, a product that delivers on its marketing message. Could not be happier with the result I am experiencing in the gym and in the bedroom.”
Charles Haupt · Golden, US✓ Verified buyer
Notice the sequence in Jason’s account: steadier days first, training drive second. Anyone who has spent weeks making excuses to avoid a workout will understand why that caught our attention. That pattern repeats across the verified reviews.

Where Adaptophen Fits If You Are Weighing TRT.
A prescription testosterone protocol raises serum testosterone into a physician-directed range. A capsule cannot copy that mechanism. The practical question for everyone else: is there a non-prescription formula worth a real 60-day trial before a man walks into a clinic—before the needles, gels, monitoring and shutdown risk?
That is the job Adaptophen is built for. It gives a man over 40 a coherent, one-capsule, no-subscription way to find out whether energy, drive, training capacity and sexual function move enough that a clinic visit becomes a choice rather than a default.
A fair first trial if…
- You want support without a clinic protocol
- You can judge results over weeks, not hours
- You want an empty-bottle refund if it misses
- You refuse autoship as the price of admission
Talk to a clinician first if…
- You already use TRT, SERMs or other hormones
- You take antidepressants, blood thinners or related drugs
- You have a hormone-sensitive condition
- The 100 mg DHEA dose needs a medical green light
The Transaction Is Part of the Product.
Count what you actually have to swallow. Adaptophen is one capsule a day—30 capsules a month. Mars Men’s five-capsule serving makes the same month 150. And Adaptophen leaves the next order to you: no subscription, no automatic refill, no cancellation date to keep track of. A repeat purchase is something the product has to earn.
The longer packages make more biological sense than an impulse purchase. Tongkat’s commonly cited stress study ran four weeks. Rhodiola trials run across weeks. DHEA studies run longer still. A man judging a formula like this after three mornings is using a very different window than the research itself.
Applied Nutritional Research has been in business since 2008—not a temporary storefront. Genuine ADAPTOPHEN® is sold only through TeamANRStore.com: not Amazon, not eBay, not Walmart, not GNC. One formula, one official source, no marketplace middlemen.
103 formulas evaluated. Adaptophen earned the #1 ranking. Not because every ingredient is perfect or the bottle carries the biggest numbers in the category—but because the formula was built around the most complete theory of male performance we found, and the company supplied more than a marketing story to support it.
The industry keeps looking for a louder testosterone ingredient. Adaptophen built a system.
Use it for 60 days. If it misses, you are not stuck with it.
Use the bottles. If energy, training and drive are not better, the official source refunds the order—even if the bottles are empty.

First, Ask What It Does. Then Ask What Is Actually There.
If your testosterone were already restored, what useful job would this formula still have?
Imagine a physician had already brought your testosterone into range. Set aside the bottle’s “make more” claims. Is there still a researched case for its ingredients in stress, fatigue, sexual function or another outcome you care about?
A product selling complete men’s performance should have more to explain than the same testosterone promise five times.
What establishes that the ingredient is what the label says it is?
Tongkat Ali makes this question revealing. A published analysis of commercial products found adulterated samples; an authenticated sample also lacked the expected chemical marker.
Ask what was tested, what the test established, and whether the report connects to the material in your bottle.
Six Criteria. A Reason Behind Every Ranking.
Over six months we examined formulas, the relevant research, the available documentation and the buying terms. The two tests guided the comparison; these six criteria gave it structure.
A sixty-capsule bottle can last sixty days—or fifteen. A study on one extract does not validate another. A blend’s total weight does not reveal each ingredient’s dose. These details change the value of a purchase before you swallow the first capsule.
Five Formulas, Examined Beyond the Front Label
Adaptophen is our first choice at 9.7/10. Its broader formulation, named botanical testing methods and one-capsule routine make the strongest overall buying case here.

Nugenix Total-T
